8th Cavalry Brigade combined with 6th Cavalry Brigade. Lt. Colonel Wickham takes command. Tenth move to Hooge – training and in reserve. September fight in battle of Loos.

← Fight at Zillebeke 3rd Feb.and 2nd Battle of Ypres 9th May. Colonel Shearman killed leading an attack 9th May along with 4 officers and 27 O.R. killed, 6 officers and 101 OI.R. wounded Battle of Hollenzollern January 3rd. In trenches for 6 weeks. Training at Embry and Bethune. June 24th Somme Offensive but no opportunity for Cavalry. July 4th retire to billets and undertake cable laying and similar duties under shellfire. December 22nd move to winter billets at coastal Merlimont. →
