March 24th join New Zealanders in south. El Hamma taken. March 28th action at Djebel, Fatnassa and Metzzouna. Advance through Tunisia destroying enemy tanks. Campaign ends 13th May. Move to Azzizia, south of Tripoli. Inspected by King George VI June 21st. Moved to Boufarik, Algiers September 30th.

← Regiment re-equip with Sherman tanks. October 23rd Battle of Alamein; advance to Kidney Ridge. 29th Regiment withdrawn after having lost just 6 tanks. Nov. 2nd advance to Tel-el-Aqqaqir under heavy fire. Nov. 4th Advance under fire; General Thoma, German commander captured. Lt-Colonel Archer-Shee wounded. Major Wingfield takes command, appointed Lt.-Colonel. Move to Italy, arriving at Naples 27th May. In May the Tenth move to South of Rome. Inspected by King George VI. August move to Adriatic coast; August 26th Attach to Gothic Line. September 4th reach River Corca. Engaement with enemy poorly planned so regiment withdraw. Major M. F. Morley and Captain Viscount Ednam wounded. →
