← Peninsula Wars. Morales – Tenth overruns enemy lines. Wellington writes “The Tenth have had a very handsome affair – Their loss is small but they must have destroyed the enemy’s 16th Dragoons.” April 12th – Toulouse. Hostilities cease. Regiment embarks for Brighton July 24th. Officers despatch letter of complaint to HRH about Colonel Quentin, who is court-marshalled. Lt.-Colonel Palmer is chosen to prosecute. After HRH influence Quentin is aquitted. Quentin remains in command and most officers move to other regiments. They become known as “The Elegant Extracts.” →
